Pennsylvania Star Sampler 1831

This sampler, dated but unsigned, has a lot of charm. Probably a first sampler for some young girl, it has the typical colors seen on most Pennsylvania samplers, as well as the stars found often in the samplers of the area.

Our model was stitched on 40 count cream fabric from Wichelt Imports, and uses Soie d'Alger silks.

Reproduced and stitched by Edna Medlin. Stitch count 75 by 101. On 40 count the design will measure 4 by 5 inches.

Floss required: Soie d'Alger 1745, 2632, 4534, and 5023. You may substitute DMC 414, 3773, 612, and 502.

Chart:  $8.00
